Yesterday was for some reason not a very good day for me. It was like my mind was misfiring and I wasn't quite getting anything right. I hate those days.

Since this Thursday Thirteen falls on Valentine's Day it seemed appropriate to list the Greatest Love Stories according to the American Film Institute. Happy Valentine's Day.

Nothing quite says Happy New Year like having a long list of resolutions that you probably won't ever do. So, some of us bloggers got together and put this little meme together to see who does or who doesn't do resolutions. Want to play along? Well, go ahead, you know you want to.

Leola Starling of Ribrock, Tenn., had a serious telephone problem. But unlike most people she did something about it. The brand-new $10 million Ribrock Plaza Motel opened nearby and had acquired almost the same telephone number as Leola.

Appetizer When was the last time you received a surprise in the mail, and what was it? Don't think I've ever recieved a good surprise by mail. A bad one was a recent bill that was incorrect and it was huge. Very bad surprise. Soup If you could have a summer and/​or winter home, where would you want it to be? I would go for the winter home somewhere in the tropics. It's really cold right now and there is a wicked storm raging at the moment.

Three guys are out having a relaxing day fishing. Out of the blue, they catch a mermaid who begs to be set free in return for granting each of them a wish. Now one of the guys just doesn't believe it, and says, "Okay, if you can really grant wishes, then double my IQ." The mermaid says, "Done." Suddenly the guy starts reciting Shakespeare flawlessly and analyzing it with extreme insight.

Here is the challenge this week: Give Me Five ideas for kicking off your new year whether that be party suggestions or weight loss ideas or simply goals you have or crafty ideas you have been thinking about starting, the sky is the limit on this one! I haven't done resolutions in years, but I do have some things that are always on my list. They include the fun side of life.

While making my rounds on Monday, December 17th I visited Lois of Lowdown From Lois and was most interested in a post titled Unique Gifts/​Precious Memories. In this post Lois was recognizing and dedicating the above award to all of us. I knew that I had to do the same.
